NARRATIVE: completely linear. protagonist- matt damon antagonist- Teddy sanders. Beginning- matt damon is left on the planet mars and wakes to find himself stranded there on his own. mid- he sets up his own farm and starts living a very prosperous life on mars and decides to try and catch the next rocket back to earth.   end- he catches rocket

KEY SCENES: the first scene- it gives us a look at what the planet is like, what each character is like, what are people's role, how dangerous the planet is like and what are protagonist. When he loses all of his crops in his space station we find out that living on mars wasn't as fun as we first imagined. the final scene where he discussing his thoughts with his class. it answers a lot of questions for the audience as well.
