10 Clover Field Lane is directed by Dan Tatchtenberg. It was released in 2016 and fits into the genre of Psychological thriller and sci fi. It is about a dystopian future where aliens are trying to take over, what seems, the world and a man's obsession with a girl named Megan.

This film is a sequel or a type of cousin to the film Clover field.  But the film is more than just a simple sci fi it includes subjects which are enigmatic and convoluted. The plot covers a woman's journey through where she thinks that she is supposedly rescued by this man named Howard. Howard is an introverted conspiracist who is obsessed with  the ideology which involves that aliens are taking over the world and there have been widespread chemical attacks to try and capture and kill people. The woman doesn't believe Howard at first but when faced with the harsh reality, encountering a woman beyond the shelter door with blistering and burnt skin, she then decides to live in the shelter. There is another man named Emmet who ran into the chamber when it was first built. The woman and Emmet become friends and start finding things out about Howard, the shelter and its previous occupants. Emmet and the woman uncover the truth about Howard and the previous occupants thus leading them to constructing an elaborate plan to escape because going out to the infested alien world is better than staying with Howard in his shelter.

The film establishes a theme of subjective reality. This is shown through the woman. To her she had a car crash and was captured by this man who run her down. But to the man, Howard, he found a replacement to his obsession with his dead daughter  Megan. Howard's wife had left him because he couldn't get over the death of his daughter. Howard then becoming a recluse and building these fantasies in his head to oppress the memory of his daughter but one of these fantasies was actually real.  With the fantasy being an actuality Howard became further obsessed with the truth, which was that aliens are trying to take over the world and are chemically attacking the earth capture and kill humans. To the woman she had her own reality that there were no aliens and life was societally normal. But when her reality is tested by Howard's, she doesn't know what to believe. It is only towards the end she knows what to believe. Emmet's reality is what ever he is told. He is used as a tool to represent the audience and how the audience is torn between Howard and the woman with what to believe. It is only till a certain occurrence to do with the three of them that the audience have to make there own decision up to what reality they need to believe.
